Members of the JFK Habitat Club are featured in the sports section for their efforts on the court.
This season’s Kennedy boys basketball team hit the court for the first time last week, and, with a few exceptions, this will likely be the group of players that will represent the Trojans the next two years. Kennedy went 1-1 in their first two games last week, picking up a 65-56 victory over the visiting Gaston Greyhounds on Dec. 3 before falling 47-44 to a Country Christian team that needed a fourth-quarter rally to upend the Trojans.
Expectations are sky-high at John F. Kennedy High School for the Trojan girls basketball team. After finishing fourth last year in the Tri-River Conference and getting ousted in the first round of the playoffs, Kennedy is doubling down on the formula that got them there in the first place: Defense, hustle, energy and more defense.
