Jose & Mayra Frausto and their three children currently live in a two-bedroom apartment. Because of Mayra’s asthma, and a smoker living in the apartment below them, they have taped up and tried to close off all avenues for the smoke to drift up to their apartment. They have taped electrical outlets, windows, and gaps between the floorboards of the balcony. These precautions make it impossible for them to open windows and doors for ventilation. In addition, the window in the kids’ room is warped and does not open, but also leaks air so has to be taped as well. Meet the Fraustos, our partner family for the 2015 build!
