Highlights:

It’s always a blessing when a group reaches out to you to volunteer, especially when it’s a group of youth.  Early in 2017, we were approached by Meg, the founder and director of the group Hands Helping Hands which engages young people in serving their community.  A group of 25 of them came out to help out our run.  You may have seen them directing traffic, being zombie’s on the course, or collecting the timers and flag belts at the finish line.

At the Women’s Build in September, 24 women literally framed Kim’s house.  Through their personal sponsorships they procured $3,000 which covered the cost to frame the Habitat home and on one Saturday they came together raise the walls!

Back on the administration side of things, we have a wonderful Office and Database Volunteer, Cindy who, among other tasks, is improving our volunteer and data tracking systems at the affiliate.  Cindy is the reason we can pull a total number of volunteer hours and participants because she entered most of the data! Thank you Cindy for being a volunteer and helping to build the volunteer engagement program!

83% of the total volunteer hours are from volunteers working in the TWO ReStores.  It takes a village (and 500+ volunteers a year) to help operate the ReStores and we are so thankful for the many people that make this possible. Pictured to the left are ReStore volunteers Kylie and Gabriella.

Of course we can't forget to mention the group of folks who come out every week to build our Habitat Homes.  Many of our construction volunteers have built 10+ Habitat homes with us.  Rain or shine you can count on these folks to get the home built and mentor new volunteers along the way.

Thank you, George, Dick, Pat, John, Noel, Ken, Andy,  Larry, Carl, Corky, Terri, Daren!
